If you do not want to confirmation uncheck the Require confirmation after settings change checkbox. If you have multiple displays and want to change the brightness of each monitor individually it will be shown with the name of the monitor will be shown on a slider for each monitor. Using a less bright backlight will result in longer battery life. If you do not respond it will revert the old brightness which is useful because if you made your screen illegible it will revert to the old settings. After doing this you will be asked to confirm the current brightness is OK while needing to select Yes. The name of your display(s) will be on a slider on the center. If you want to make the screen more bright press the right arrow key or drag the slider towards the right. To find the brightness slider in earlier versions of Windows 10, select Settings > System > Display, and then move the Change brightness slider to adjust the brightness. The Brightness slider appears in action center in Windows 10, version 1903. To make the screen dimmer use the left arrow key or click on the slider and drag the dial towards the left. To change the brightness on an external monitor, use the buttons on it. Press and hold (or right-click) the display adapter name, then select Update driver and follow the instructions.To use brightness click drag a set of sliders on thee for a particular monitor or backlight. In Device Manager, select Display adapters, then select the display adapter. In the search box on the taskbar, type Device Manager, and then select Device Manager from the list of results. If you don't have a desktop PC and the slider doesn't appear or work, try updating the display driver. To change the brightness on an external monitor, use the buttons on it. You might not see the Change brightness for the built-in display slider on desktop PCs that have an external monitor. Even if you use it, you can still move the Change brightness for the built-in display slider to fine-tune the brightness level. This automatic setting helps make sure your screen is readable wherever you go. Under Brightness and color, look for the Change brightness automatically when lighting changes check box, and then select it to use this feature. Fn + A: Increase screen brightness Fn + Z. To find out if your PC supports this, select Settings > System > Display. By pressing the Fn keys with other keys, it can simulate all keyboard functions of a regular desktop keyboard. Some PCs can let Windows automatically adjust screen brightness based on the current lighting conditions. (If the slider isn't there, see the Notes section below.) Some Windows PCs can automatically adjust the screen brightness and contrast based on content that’s displayed on your built-in screen. You might also see another check box displayed: Help improve battery by optimizing the content shown and brightness. Even if you use it, you can still move the Brightness slider to fine-tune the brightness level for a built-in display. Select Brightness, look for the Change brightness automatically when lighting changes check box, and then select it to use this feature. At the top-level menu, look for a category called Brightness/Contrast. To learn how to navigate the on-screen display menu, see the user manual of the Dell monitor. Locate the button on the monitor that activates the On-Screen Display (OSD) menu. To find out if your PC supports this, select Settings > System > Display. Adjust the brightness and contrast settings on a Dell monitor. (If the slider isn't there, see the Notes section below.) Select the Network icon on the right side of the taskbar, and then move the Brightness slider to adjust the brightness.
